3/24 Chicago Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression (CAARPR) meeting with families with incarcerated loved ones in Menard and other prisons

Frank proposed a campaign for the men who are being abused and tortured in Menard.
4 prongs:
1) Get Isaiah Brady’s plea reversed. Three years were added to Isaiah’s sentence recently for an incident involving a guard. Attorney and NAACP head, Rose Joshua believes his guilty plea was unconstitutional because of Isaiah’s mental health, and that it can be reversed.
2) Through a civil suit, get Menard closed because the prison is practicing cruel and unusual punishment.
3) Through mass pressure campaign, call on the Governor, IDOC and the warden to move from Menard the four men being tortured: Isaiah Brady, Michael Minnifield, Kenyatta Brown, and Chaz Thrailkill
4) Support the Anthony Gay Bill to limit the use of solitary confinement in Illinois.
Legal action has already begun, now we start political action.
Friday, 3/25, CAARPR will start phone banking our membership and contact lists to generate phone calls to the officials (Gov., IDOC director, and warden).
